RIVERVIEW PICKLEBALL CLUB

CODE OF CONDUCT

  1. Safety first! Please make sure to wear court shoes and goggles to avoid injury.
  2. Please respect the volunteers, each other, the facility and equipment. Learn how to properly set up and take down nets.
  3. When your ball enters an adjacent court, call out BALL! Do not enter the adjacent court until their play is finished. We do not want anyone tripping on the ball. Adjacent court players will re-serve.
  4. Please bend over and pick up the ball, see who wants it and tap it to them. Doing otherwise just delays the game.
  5. Each player or player’s partner must loudly call out the score before they serve for all players to hear and clarify and to help all remember what the score is.
  6. Only the receiving players can call the ball OUT. If there is disagreement between partners then it is automatically considered IN. Indicate ball is out by raising your hand high. Indicate ball is in by pointing to the floor. Anyone can call a kitchen fault.
  7. After tapping paddles, please move quickly off the court. Players coming on the court should do it quickly as well to allow other court players to resume their game. Move counter clock-wise on and off the courts.
  8. Unruly behavior or bad language will not be acceptable and players who insist on doing so will be asked to leave the facility.
  9. Do not run backwards to hit a lobbed ball. Turn and run back to hit it or let partner get it.
  10. Have fun and enjoy the game! Do not take any unnecessary risks in trying to reach the ball to hit it. Remember it’s just a game and it’s not worth the possible injury.
